Funny how me controlling whose comments are shown on Youtube drastically cuts down on the amount of hate and internet idiocy there. I approve 99.9% of all comments I get – (feel free to test me by posting “it sucks” or similar on one of my videos), and it’s a vast improvement over the rest of the Youtube or WarcraftMovies (WCM) comments you read.
Here’s some more comments from Umah, who gave me probably the most detailed feedback I’ve seen so far – not that I agree with all of it:
Feral DPS what is missing
- Tricks of Trade can be cast on you as well, if you do more damage than competing rogues.
- Multiple Cooldowns (Berserking, Speed Pot, Bloodlust, Hysteria, Shattering/Heroic Throw (one of those), Tricks of Trade) should be combined
- Use TF before Berserking right after a threat-save pull (tricks, misdirection up, vigiliance on you), then go for Berserk asap, your weapon/trinket procs may still be up (high chance on pull).
- Use 20 AGI / 10 stats gem in your weapon sockets if you want to socket agi instead of arpen (because it multiplies with predatory strikes there, not in any other slot, besides weapon slot though)
- you may enchant 16 agi instead of crit/hit on your boots if you overcap on hit rating.
- if you have high levels of equipment stacking agi/haste instead of agi if you have good socket bonus (4agi+/6haste+/6crit+) into yellow slots.
- 100% MINUS glancing MINUS miss MINUS dodge = your crit cap.
That is: 100 – 24 – 8 – 6.5 = 61.5 without expertise% and hit%. just take 61.5 and add your hit% and expertise% to have your white crit cap. yellow crit cap is 75% (due to rend and tear)
- around below 250 arpen without gems, dual arpen trinkets are worth it, you can even unequip one of them to trigger the internal global cooldown before trinket (that can be macroed with /in 1 /equipset name and so on)
- if you are around max 250 arpen without gems, and have both arpen trinkets, go for it, you can even unequip one before pulling to reset the internal cooldown
- if you have zero arpen trinkets and cannot reach like 850+ arpen, its not worth going for it, generally use rawr or simulcraft to check that out.
- both toc25 proc trinkets are worth it only in very high end gear, but they are then (around 50 dps from runestone)
- berserking is a huge increase over mongoose actually, executioneer is not worth it.
- if you have at least one arpen trinket or 900 soft arpen, you should socket for arpen until around 705+ arpen, then take rhino food. arpen/rhino food is mostly much cheaper than agi food.
- a missing arms warrior is around 150-250 dps
- your raid should prefer to give hunters bows and guns (and not rogues/warriors) and you should get staffs/polearms first (tank dks might get agility polearms second), hunters get only around 10% benefit compared to a feral (most as well as some raid leaders, still don’t know).
rawr can actually list where the biggest “dps” buff comes from (which item, enchant or raidbuff), check it out.
- a raid should not force you to tank if there are good alternatives like warriors (sunder armor, vigiliance), because you bring mangle in dps as well, you can battle rez (even instant most of the time) out of cat always, you can innervate, decurse, depoision, cast tranqulity (door tactics twins) and emergancy tank. A “cheap” way of getting arguably good tank equip is going for your dps equip + 2 rings, 2 trinkets (one ring and one trinket by badges), 1800 rating weapon, boots and belt. In Grand Trial of the Crusader Heroic Hardmode whatever there is only one both worth using a feral tank over other tanks because of mechanis, and that is on anub itself, the adds though prefer ONLY paladins and warriors and DKs are better of dpsing there anyway. Besides anub MT you should be DPSing if you have well equipt and competent warriors / paladins around. While we are at it: demo shout reduces damage taken massivly: 1 ap = 2damage, a reduction of 580 ap is around 1160 damage per hit less (see anub ads). As the feral cannot imp demoshout, a fury warrior has to do that (and he has to do that each time adds spawn).
p.s. I am Umah (had been in EU druids chan for some time back some years) but EJ banned me like Tun, bad for them, no prob for me.
I don’t agree with the hard-and-fast ArPen numbers above, nor that enchants other than Berserking aren’t sometimes worth it, but everything else seems fairly kosher.
A happy raider is a raider who plays the spec/role/class they want to play. Min/maxing to the point that people aren’t having fun just leads to burnout.

Alliance. 80, reasonable gear for raiding, fully gemmed, enchanted, glyphed, specced for raiding. Currently we’re almost completely filled, so exceptionally qualified applicants only.
